What Hamak announced

The company reported a Measured, Indicated & Inferred resource of 210,430 ounces at 0.76 g/t Au.

The numbers that matter

Measured & Indicated resources were reported at 103,200 ounces and Inferred at 107,230 ounces. Hamak also reported more than 120,000 ounces of shallow oxide material within 50 metres of surface and initial oxide recoveries of 85–94%.

Why it matters

The MRE moves Akoko from exploration concept to a quantified resource and provides a basis for the planned independent Preliminary Economic Assessment.

What comes next

Hamak said a PEA would be commissioned to assess a potential low-capex, open-pit, heap-leach operation. Further drilling may also test resource conversion and expansion.

Risks / open questions

Mineral resources are not reserves and do not demonstrate economic viability. The PEA still needs to establish potential economics, costs, permitting and development assumptions.
