Live market data
Live Gold and Bitcoin values are retrieved server-side where possible. If the source is unavailable, the website should show an unavailable or last-known-good state rather than fabricate a price.
Historical data
Bitcoin history uses BTC-USD. Historical Gold currently uses COMEX Gold Futures (GC=F) as a labelled price proxy. The Golden Ratio divides Bitcoin by the nearest matching Gold point.
Gold market scale
Estimated Gold market capitalisation uses live Gold price multiplied by approximately 219,891 tonnes of above-ground stock and the troy-ounce conversion. It is an estimate, not an exchange-quoted market capitalisation.
